RATP Group becomes Official Supporter of Rugby World Cup 2023
A STRONG AND SHARED COMMITMENT TO PROMOTE RUGBY IN RATP GROUP FACILITIES
The RATP group has been supporting rugby in France since 2005, as official carrier of the French men's rugby team. Throughout the warm-up phase before Rugby World Cup 2023 in July and August, the RATP group will be providing transport for the French men's team, making available two top-of-the-range laminated buses, a lead car and 4 drivers.
Origami, a subsidiary of RATP Cap Ile-de-France, is also providing transport for La Mêlée des Choeurs programme, an operation that will enable thousands of young people to sing the national anthems of Rugby World Cup France 2023.
Through its commitment, the company will be helping to promote this international sporting event during the 51 days of competition. Fans from all over the world will use the network operated by RATP, on behalf of Ile-de-France Mobilités, to travel to the Stade de France, hosting 10 matches of Rugby World Cup France 2023, and to the Rugby Villages set up on Place de la Concorde (Paris) and in Saint Denis.
CELEBRATIONS FOR PASSENGERS AND FANS
RATP is pursuing its objective of making sport a way to connect with its passengers, by hosting celebrations throughout the network, before and during this major sporting event:
- The RATP Rugby Park will be back at Auber RER station (RER A) with a number of events centered around a giant rugby pitch (rugby initiation, photocall, etc.) from 5 to 8 September 2023 for the launch of the competition and from 24 to 27 October 2023 for the final stretch before the final, which will be played at the Stade de France;
- A space dedicated to the French national team and its fans will open in July in the RER station at Nation (RER A) and at Saint-Denis Porte de Paris station (L13): photo exhibition of the French national team highlights at Rugby World Cups, photocall... ;
- And, of course, pre-match events at the two stations - Saint-Denis Porte de Paris (L13) and Front Populaire (L12) - serving the Stade de France, including face-painting workshops for fans of the qualified teams.
Julien COLLETTE (CEO of France 2023): "France 2023 is particularly proud to be associated with one of the world's best-known public service companies, one to which the French are most attached. The values of rugby and of public service, including solidarity and togetherness, are a common DNA between the RATP group and France 2023 that makes particular sense and speaks to all rugby fans. This commitment is in line with our ambition to put soft mobility solutions at the heart of our event, and to limit our impact on the environment. Together, we will be working alongside fans to guarantee them the best fan experience in Île-de-France Region, and to extend the Rugby World Cup 2023 celebrations beyond the pitch!"
Jean CASTEX (CEO of RATP group): "We are very proud to become Official Supporter of Rugby World Cup 2023. The values conveyed by sport, particularly team sports, are shared by those we carry within the RATP Group: respect and team spirit. This partnership also confirms our long-standing commitment to support French sport and major sporting events. We will be at the side of our passengers and the athletes to make this competition an unforgettable moment of sharing".
