France 2023 and Vivendi share the ambition to have a positive impact beyond the 48 matches of the tournament and to unite public around strong societal commitments in favor of circular and sustainable economy, education programs, environment preservation, social and territorial inclusion, and diversity.
VIVENDI’S COLLECTIVE STRENGTH
Vivendi’s diverse activities across music, television, communication, publishing, and live performances will make sure the event has an unprecedented impact, building on the success of recent partnerships including the WE LOVE 2023 TOUR production (Rugby World Cup train), and the groundbreaking ‘Gastronomie XV’ cook book.
As an Official Sponsor of Rugby World Cup France 2023, Vivendi will benefit from the event’s international exposure and a dedicated activation programme. Vivendi and the France 2023 Organising Committee have committed to a sustainable, responsible and united sponsorship.
The announcement of Vivendi, one of the first supporters of France's bid to host Rugby World Cup 2023, adds to a rapidly-growing commercial family joining Societe Generale (Wordwide Partner) and GL Events, SNCF and LOXAM (Official Sponsors).
Claude ATCHER (Rugby World Cup France 2023 Managing Director): “The involvement of Vivendi, a long-standing sponsor of French sport and early supporter of the France 2023 project, was obvious. We are delighted to be able to count on the many talents of the Group and their know-how in the field of entertainment to reach our audiences and conquer new ones. With Vivendi, Rugby World Cup France 2023 will be an event as spectacular as it is exemplary. This is the very sense of our project: to engage sponsors committed with France 2023 to have a positive impact on the planet, the country, and rugby.”
Sir Bill BEAUMONT (World Rugby Chairman): “We are delighted to be welcoming Vivendi to the Rugby World Cup 2023 commercial family for the first time. The appointment of another sector leader as an official sponsor highlights the excitement, interest and demand for rugby’s showcase event, which is returning to France for the first time since 2007.”
Arnaud de PUYFONTAINE (Vivendi’s Board of Directors Chairman) : “Rugby has been intimately linked to our Group’s identity for more than twenty years. It was only natural to immediately involve Vivendi in this great adventure of organising a Rugby World Cup. Aligning a top-notch sporting competition with a festive event targeting a large audience is a superb challenge. Our different businesses are at the crossroads of entertainment, media, and communication and carry strong values. As such, I am convinced that we can together contribute to Rugby World Cup France 2023‘s success."
