Rail services cover the entire country from London's mainline railway stations. With multiple hub stations to choose from, there are plenty of options to travel across the country.
These are the major train stations in London which connect the capital to other parts of the UK, including the other Rugby World Cup 2025 host cities:
- London Waterloo Station: Links the capital with a number of major towns and cities across the south and south west, with a direct service to Twickenham, for the stadium, taking around 20 minutes.
- London Paddington Station: Trains go direct to Bristol (for Ashton Gate Stadium) in just 1 hour and 30 minutes, with direct trains to Exeter (for Sandy Park) taking just over 2 hours.
- London King's Cross: Trains to Sunderland (for the Stadium of Light) take around 3 hours and 45 minutes. You can also get to York (for York Community Stadium) in just over 2 hours.
- London Euston: Trains go direct to Manchester (for Salford Community Stadium) and take just over 2 hours. The average journey time by train between London Euston and Northampton (for Franklin’s Gardens Stadium) is 1 hour and 16 minutes, with around 54 trains per day.
- London Victoria: from London Victoria you can get to Brighton (for the Brighton and Hove Community Stadium) in just 55 minutes.
If you are travelling from Europe, Eurostar train services operate to / from London St Pancras Station.
London is accessible via direct coach from the majority of cities in the UK including Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, Leeds, Cardiff, Newcastle and Oxford and can offer a convenient and cost-effective way to reach the city. The main coach station in London is Victoria Coach station and is served by National Express.

London is home to multiple airports – Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City Airports, all of which are within an hour of central London.
Times and distances to central London:
- London Heathrow Airport is just 17 miles from the centre of London and the quickest way to travel to central London from Heathrow is using the Heathrow Express. The Heathrow Express operates regularly from Terminals 2 and 3 and 5 and takes just 15 minutes to reach Paddington. A cheaper option is taking the London Underground Elizabeth or Piccadilly lines, which will take between 30 and 50 minutes to reach central London.
- London Gatwick Airport is 28 miles from central London and the Gatwick Express non-stop train service to London Victoria offers a service every 15 minutes with a journey time of 30 minutes. There is a cheaper train service from the airport to London Victoria via Clapham Junction, which takes around 35 minutes and runs regularly. Services to London Bridge, London Blackfriars, Farringdon and St Pancras International also run four times an hour with a journey time of between 30 and 45 minutes.
- London Stansted Airport is 39 miles from the city centre. Stansted Express trains to Liverpool Street station are the quickest and most direct way to travel between London Stansted Airport and the capital.
- London Luton Airport is 34 miles from central London and offers a four minute transfer to nearby Luton Airport Parkway station via the Luton DART rail link. From Luton Airport Parkway, trains can get you into central London locations including St Pancras International in less than 30 minutes.
- London City Airport is the closest airport at just under 9 miles from the centre of London. Docklands Light Railway trains take you to Bank underground station in central London in just over 20 minutes.
