Eden Park becomes Elegance Supplier for Rugby World Cup 2023 and confirms its commitment to the Campus 2023 programme
Eden Park will play its full role in the 10th Rugby World Cup’s central ambition to deliver a sustainable and impactful sporting event. As ‘Elegance Supplier’, the famous pink bow-tie brand will also provide formal wear for the France 2023 tournament officials.
Eden Park will also support the Campus 2023 programme, which aims to train thousands of young French people for a career in sport industry, delivering a tangible legacy beyond the tournament.
Within this exciting initiative, Eden Park and the France 2023 Organising Committee will provide 2,600 Campus 2023 apprentices with official kits as Campus 2023 and Eden Park ambassadors.
FRANCE 2023 AND EDEN PARK, ELEGANCE WITHIN THE GAME
The collaboration further embodies the historic and iconic relationship between the pink bow-tie brand and rugby, ongoing since 1987.
Created by the France 2023 Organising Committee, Campus 2023 will also provide courses linked to tourism and security. Beyond receiving an education, the 2,600 apprentices will gain valuable hands-on experience by being involved in the delivery of Rugby World Cup France 2023, which will celebrate rugby’s bicentenary.
Eden Park’s commitment was announced today at a Campus 2023 gathering in Saint Denis, in the presence of Claude Atcher (France 2023 CEO), Franck Mesnel (Eden Park Co-Founder), and the 285 apprentices from Ile de France, Centre Val de Loire, Grand Est and Normandie regions.
EDEN PARK’S COMMITMENT FOR EDUCATION
The Campus 2023 apprentices embody values shared by the Parisian brand and France 2023. Integration, education and inclusion are Eden Park’s key values. This commitment is reflected through other projects backed by the brand, notably the recent construction of a secondary school in Madagascar for 100 students, eight staff and a library.
Claude Atcher, France 2023 CEO, said: “Rugby is the story of friends gathered around an oval ball. Take the ball away, and you are left with friends! No brand better represents this quote from Jean-Pierre Rives than Eden Park, born around the wonderful friendship created on the pitch, in 1987. I am proud that the pink bow-tie, with its free spirit, will partake in Rugby World Cup France 2023! Through its creativity and dare, this French flair will be a source of exceptional inspiration for our event.”
Franck Mesnel, Eden Park Chairman, said: “Life is very much like a game of rugby, it must be organised through a well-crafted match plan, a specific role for each person involved, and objectives that will vary in light of the situation and the moment. One must be able to adapt to today’s evolutions and must always work in harmony and in respect of our culture, history and country.
“For this to all work together, it is essential to learn and gain an education, as to understand the rules, necessary and common to all. The absence of such values can give way to individualism, which leads to disorder, chaos and – in fine – defeat. It is therefore always important to consider the collective, work, and effort of these basic and mandatory values – which bring our society together and carries us towards our common existential goals.”
