REVISED ASIA QUALIFICATION PATHWAY
World Rugby confirmed a revision to the RWC 2021 Asia qualification pathway in October 2021 in light of ongoing travel and quarantine challenges due the global pandemic. As the highest ranked team in the region, Japan will automatically qualify for RWC 2021. Kazakhstan and Hong Kong will compete in a play-off match to determine which team progresses to the Final Qualification Tournament.

Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship 2019
Four teams took part in Oceania’s process, Fiji ensuring a first ever Rugby World Cup appearance before Samoa booked their place in the Final Qualification Tournament after a play-off process also involving Tonga and Papua New Guinea.

Four teams contested the inaugural competition with hosts South Africa claiming the title with wins over Madagascar, Uganda and Kenya. As runners-up Kenya would face the South American winner for a place in the Final Qualification Tournament.

Final Qualification Tournament
The Final Qualification Tournament for Rugby World Cup 2021 will be held at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai on 19 and 25 February, 2022. The winner of Kazakhstan v Colombia will play Scotland to compete for the last remaining place at New Zealand 2021, taking place between 8 October – 12 November, 2022.
